Our Story
Why call ourselves Atlas Sports Therapy? It is because we feel that the human body, with all of its fascia, nerves, muscles, bones, etc, is essentially a map. Or an atlas. A region, or area, from the farthest part of a person’s body, is completely connected and in ways, dependent, on other areas of the body. The same as a map. A wrong movement, or compensation, such as in the hip, can disrupt a person’s shoulder mobility in ways that can be difficult to see without a trained eye. This is only an example of countless ways of how one part of the body directly affects another part of the body. We use our ability to “read” and understand this human map to be able “feel” our way through roadblocks and traffic found in the fascia and muscles. We use our manual therapy skills to improve the pathways and de-congest problem areas in the soft tissue. Our scope of services, from deep tissue massage to movement assessments, are all done to improve the quality of life for each and every individual we have the pleasure of serving.
